Located mostly in northeast Alabama, but with the extreme eastern portion of the lake extending into Floyd County’s Big Cedar Creek in northwest Georgia, Weiss is a popular recreational destination and second home location for many Georgians.

Operated by Alabama Power, the 30,200-acre lake has 447 miles of shoreline. In the Coosa River watershed, it is formed by the Coosa and Weiss Dam.
