Description:
Located in northwest Georgia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Carters Lake is one of 10 US Army Corps of Engineers-owned lakes in the state. The 3,200-acre lake has 62 miles of undeveloped natural shoreline. In the Coosa River watershed, it is formed by the Coosawattee River and Carters Dam, the tallest earthen dam east of the Mississippi River.
