Located in extreme northeast Georgia and extending north 13 miles into North Carolina where Chatuge Dam is located, Chatuge Lake is one of three Tennessee Valley Authority-owned lakes in the state. In the Tennessee River watershed, it is formed by the Hiawassee River and Chatuge Dam.
