What Au Pied de Cochon Says About Itself…
aupiedrgb225.jpgFrench Brasserie open 24 hours in Paris, Mexico City and Atlanta at the InterContinental Hotel, Buckhead. When the original Au Pied de Cochon opened in Paris in 1946, no one dreamed the bustling brasserie would one day be among Atlanta’s hottest dining destinations. Always open, the restaurant offers a private chef’s table, private dining room, Lover’s Booth and outdoor terrace, where you’re likely to spot locals, hotel guests and celebrities. The menu features favorites, such as Foie Gras de Canard Poélé, Escargots de Bourgogne, Steak Tartare and the city’s best jumbo shrimp on the raw seafood bar. Chef Michael Buard is originally from Paris and comes to the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta by way of the InterContinental Chicago.

What Others Are Saying About Au Pied de Cochon

  • The ambiance is stunning, with soaring ceilings, Venetian glass light fixtures and tables that can be curtained off for additional privacy. Reviewed by Jane Garvey in Georgia EMC Magazine, 0609
  • I have been about 4 times and have had a good meal every time. Reviewed by the Blissful Glutton 9/05
  • Pigs’ trotter (a pig’s foot), available in two versions, is the restaurant’s iconic specialty. The simpler crumbed version fills the plate end-to-end. Your waiter will present the dish and debone it for you, although trotter enthusiasts prefer to perform that function themselves. Reviewed in Gayot

What Love’s Seafood Says About Itself…
lovesrgb150.jpgLocated on the banks of the beautiful Ogeechee River, just 15 minutes from Savannah, Love’s Seafood Restaurant on Highway 17 South at Kings Ferry offers fine dining in a rustic atmosphere, among the finest to be found in coastal Georgia.

Since 1949, this restaurant under the ownership of the Love family has offered to its customers the very best in seafood. Dine with us overlooking the Ogeechee River, one of the most beautiful rivers in America. We take our fish direct from the river to our kitchen and serve it fresh at your table. It’s a taste you will long remember.

In October 1993 Love’s Seafood was selected by Paramount Pictures for one of the many filming locations of the Academy Award-winning movie, “Forest Gump,” starring Tom Hanks.

What Others Are Saying About Love’s…

  • This place is amazing. I don’t remember ever having to wait for a table. It’s right on the Ogeechee River, and the view from the dining room is phenomenal. You can see the site where parts of Forrest Gump was filmed. I have never left this place without a completely full to-go box, the portions are very healthy. ugagirl719, Savannah, in Trip Advisor, 06/09
  • We ordered by 5:15 and waited, and waited, and waited. We inquired about the delay and were told the entire dining room was behind on orders, but ours would come out soon..??. When queried again at 6:30 the owner’s relative (daughter?) told us it was because one of our party ordered the steak and it takes 45 minutes. Discriminators, North Carolina, in Trip Advisor, June 09
  • The service was excellent and attentive. The crab stew was great! I had shrimp and scallops. The breading on the seafood was a bit heavy, next time I’ll be having it broiled. Chuck L., Gaineville, GA, 4/09 in yelp!

What Others Are Saying About Longstreet

  • The best Meat and Veggie place I have had in a LONG time. If you are in the area, this is THE place to eat. Your mother would scold you for not stopping here! 3Greyhounds in Trip Advisor 10/08
  • This is a local favorite. Great country cooking at a descent price. It’s a self serve buffet. Staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean. We love it! Sabrina A in dine.com, 11/08
  • Good traditional country food as good as Grandmas.  Wished they had meatloaf more often in the week, my favorite.  They have recently started opening for dinner and it is a great place for that. Also try them for breakfast too.  The biscuit and gravy is a real treat.  They have almost every type of breakfast meat you can think of.  This is a good place to start those long days of weekend projects from. They also have another location just off Perl Nix parkway too! Chuck L, Gainesville, GA, in yelp 11/08

What Cargo Portside Grill Says About Itself…
cargorgb375.jpgExposed brick walls blanketed with local art, candle lit tables, and a charming bar scene combine to serve as the ultimate backdrop for Chef Jayson Ridinger to serve his inspired culinary masterpieces. Located in the heart of downtown Brunswick, Jason and Christie have the quintessential low-country locale to rouse the creative energy behind their seasonally fresh and diversified dishes and wine selection. Jason’s vast experience in the kitchen and Christie’s delectable sommelier’s palate combined with their efforts to provide exemplary customer service make Cargo a premier dining destination. After an initial visit, food aficionados and the culinary inept alike will be booking reservations for their next evening out.

What Others Are Saying About Cargo Portside Grill…

  • My wife and I were in shock how good the food is here. Creativity and execution beyond what we have found in Georgia east of Atlanta. MKCriswell of Savannah in Trip Advisor 4/09
  • I am local to the area, and this is THE restaurant to visit for special occasions. There is a wide selection of menu items, each impeccably prepared. Being on the coast, the restaurant offers a good number of seafood dishes as well as beef, chicken and pork dishes. The crab cakes are the best I have ever tasted. madaboutwool in Menuism, 11/08
  • This is one of my very favorite restaurants, hands down. Every time I’m in Georgia I make a point to go there several times, often to the point that the hostess mentions the noticeable frequency of my visits. Cargo just gets everything right. The exposed brick walls, the messy, textured paintings, the circle cut through the wall so you can see into the kitchen (true to the subtle ship theme, it resembles the window of a boat). Shelagh P. Washington, DC in Yelp 1/09

Augusta’s Sconyers

What Sconyers Says About Itself…
sconyersaugustargb500.jpgIn Augusta, Sconyers is the place for real, old fashioned, oak and hickory, pit-cooked BAR-B-QUE. When your taste buds yearn for the honest taste of old- fashioned bar-b-que, Sconyers has to be your choice. Succulent, tender ribs; lean mouth watering tenderloin and flavorful hash … all cooked to perfection from a secret family recipe. Beautiful surroundings, friendly atmosphere and courteous staff.

Barbecue is a Southern tradition. At Sconyers we’ve tried to continue to enrich that tradition by serving only the finest bar-b-que cooked by a recipe handed down through generations of my family. Join in the tradition with us by having bar-b-que at its best at Sconyers. You’ll always be welcome.

What Others Are Saying About Sconyers

  • Disappointed at this old favorite. Seems to be living off its past reputation. Opened limited days and has lost it’s appeal! GMG in Urban Spoon 2/28/09
  • You have to try this place at least once. One of a kind. Southern hospitality at it’s finest. A contributor to Trip Advisor, 2/09
  • The best bbq in Augusta, and the stuff of legends. Just walk in and see all the pictures from days gone by of Sconyer’s bbq & past Presidents. The bbq is always consistently amazing. My favorite thing is splitting the Plantation Platter with someone so I can have a little bit of everything: chicken, pulled pork, ribs, hash, rice. The hash is my favorite thing there, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is great too: gravel parking lot, pond with catfish (have great memories feeding the catfish as a kid here), farm tools & paraphenalia on the walls, Southern hospitality from all the servers. Oh and sweet, sweet, sweet tea. This place is also great for groups, lots of room. And if you want take out, they have a drive thru. Just beware - they’re only open Thurs, Fri and Sat last I checked. So you only have 3 days to satisfy any bbq cravings! Corrie N, Atlanta, in Yelp! 9/08
