Christopher DiNello is now the Executive Chef, and carries on the traditions of Chef Hilary Craig where “everything” is made on the premises, a rarity by all but the most discriminating establishments. We’re frequently asked, “Why did you choose to name your restaurant Alligator Soul?” The word “soul” is meant to represent your integrity and values. Who you are and what you personally stand for. The “alligator” is meant to represent your outward appearance. Integrity is what matters most to us, and people can clearly see that by what you put on the plate!!
Since 1753, The Pirates’ House has been welcoming visitors to Savannah with a bounty of delicious food and drink and rousing good times. Situated a scant block from the Savannah River, The Pirate’s House first opened as an inn for seafarers and fast became a rendezvous for blood-thirsty pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. Here seamen drank their grog and discoursed, sailor fashion, on their exotic high seas adventures from Singapore to Bombay and from London to Port Said. The entire family will enjoy Savannah’s most intriguing restaurant. At the Pirates’ House, our most precious treasure is our food, acclaimed for over three decades. Our extensive menu includes dishes for all tastes and our varied selection of scandalous desserts is sure to delight. Like a tale of the high seas, The Pirates’ House rambles in all directions. We operate 15 separate dining rooms each with a distinct charm all its own.
Situated on a busy corner in the heart of Savannah’s downtown shopping district, Il Pasticcio Restaurant and Wine Bar has been wowing locals and travelers alike for over a decade. A regular favorite among local readers’ polls, Il Pasticcio received national attention after it was named one of the country’s ten best Italian restaurants by USA Today. Additionally, Southern Living magazine calls the restaurant “one of the South’s best food finds.” It should also be noted that Il Pasticcio makes a regular annual appearance in Wine Spectator magazine for its 300 + bottle list. We offer numerous selections from Italy and California, but also from South America, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Our “wines by the glass” list is one of the largest in Savannah.
Dinner is served Tuesday - Saturday, and lunch served Saturday in Seagle’s Waterfront Cafe. Picnic Lunches are packed daily for visitors going to Cumberland Island, as well as for large groups.
After opening its doors in February 1975, The Crab Trap has remained a favorite Island tradition for more than 30 years. This famous Island landmark is still owned and operated by the original family. The Crab Trap offers a very nautical, casual and rustic atmosphere. It is known for its tables with “the hole” in the middle used for discarding your fresh oyster shells and shrimp tails. Diners continue to return time after time for our delicious and generous portions of fresh seafood served fried, blackened, broiled or grilled.
