Alligator Soul

Read What Alligator Soul Is Saying About Itself…
aligatorsoulexteriorrgb238.jpgChristopher DiNello is now the Executive Chef, and carries on the traditions of Chef Hilary Craig where “everything” is made on the premises, a rarity by all but the most discriminating establishments. We’re frequently asked, “Why did you choose to name your restaurant Alligator Soul?” The word “soul” is meant to represent your integrity and values. Who you are and what you personally stand for. The “alligator” is meant to represent your outward appearance. Integrity is what matters most to us, and people can clearly see that by what you put on the plate!!

  • The atmosphere was great, the food was outstanding, but above all the service was probably the best of any restaurant I have been to. Our waiter made us feel as if we were the most important people in the world! The prices were on the high side, but it was well worth it. I highly recommend Alligator Soul to anyone visiting Savannah!‎ Courtney on TripAdviser 11/6/2009.
  • The food is fresh and they chose local ingredients when available. The shrimp and grits are to die for. The staff are both professional and warm and friendly. I enjoyed it so much, I returned for my last night in Savannah. Sandraf9873 on Zagat 8/2009.
  • It was well worth the cost for a great dining experience in a unique underground setting. Check it out if you’re in the area. mmgfrnj on CitySearch 8/2008.

Pirates’ House

Read What The Pirates’ House Says About Itself…
pirateshouse.jpgSince 1753, The Pirates’ House has been welcoming visitors to Savannah with a bounty of delicious food and drink and rousing good times. Situated a scant block from the Savannah River, The Pirate’s House first opened as an inn for seafarers and fast became a rendezvous for blood-thirsty pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. Here seamen drank their grog and discoursed, sailor fashion, on their exotic high seas adventures from Singapore to Bombay and from London to Port Said. The entire family will enjoy Savannah’s most intriguing restaurant. At the Pirates’ House, our most precious treasure is our food, acclaimed for over three decades. Our extensive menu includes dishes for all tastes and our varied selection of scandalous desserts is sure to delight. Like a tale of the high seas, The Pirates’ House rambles in all directions. We operate 15 separate dining rooms each with a distinct charm all its own.

  • We LOVED this place!!!! The atmosphere was so haunted, the service was spot on, the service was amazing, the pirate’s tour was uber piratey and entertaining AND THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!! Keleka911 on Trip Adviser 9/2009
  • We went after the trolley conductor told us to try this place for the atmosphere and food. It was wonderful and we got seated right away in the eve. We LOVED the pecan glazed chicken. It is very rich and sweet — deep fried sweet as you would expect in Southern home cooking. It is very unusual to have chicken this perfect. A Yahoo! Contributor 8/2008.
  • Had The Pirate House been just a pirate themed restaurant, it would have been all right. Had it been a pirate themed restaurant with amazing food it would have been pretty good. But it is a pirate themed restaurant with amazing food and a very long history. That to me says that The Pirate House has character and charm and a head of kitchen that has the talent to outdo that character. BobD on Yelp! 6/2009.

What Il Pasticcio Says About Itself…
ilpasticioedit.jpgSituated on a busy corner in the heart of Savannah’s downtown shopping district, Il Pasticcio Restaurant and Wine Bar has been wowing locals and travelers alike for over a decade. A regular favorite among local readers’ polls, Il Pasticcio received national attention after it was named one of the country’s ten best Italian restaurants by USA Today. We offer numerous selections from Italy and California, but also from South America, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Our “wines by the glass” list is one of the largest in Savannah.

What Others Are Saying About Savannah’s Il Pasticcio

  • Aside from being my best dining experience in Savannah, going to Il Pasticcio may have been my best dining experience ever. We were a larger group and it was a very busy night, but our service was still exceptional. Our waiter was knowledgeable, helpful, and made us feel like valued customers. Dizzy Design in TripAdviser 6/2009
  • My husband and I ate here on a Thursday night and were very impressed. The gnocchi was out of this world and the scallops were perfectly prepared. We sat at the bar and had excellent and very personable service. Gillescf in SuperPages 6/2009

What Seagle’s Waterfront Cafe Says About Itself…
seaglesrgb250.jpgDinner is served Tuesday - Saturday, and lunch served Saturday in Seagle’s Waterfront Cafe. Picnic Lunches are packed daily for visitors going to Cumberland Island, as well as for large groups.

What Others Are Saying About Seagle’s Waterfront Cafe

  • We enjoyed a great meal and look forward to our next visit. Promoverosham
  • We had dinner in Seagle’s Restaurant. I went there just for something to eat, but instead was pleasantly surprised with a gourmet dinner at a very reasonable price. Everything from the entree to the veggies to the house salad was to die for. We ended up eating there two more times during our stay and were never disappointed. Caroline
  • Seagle’s Waterfront Cafe is the best place to eat in St. Marys. They have fresh seafood dishes on the menu. Not just the ordinary fried seafood. Anything you order on the menu is awesome. Save room for some homemade pie, or an after dinner cordial from the Martini Bar. This restaurant has something for everyone, and for any budget. Moderately priced. Wine menu and full serve bar. What The Crab Trap Says About Itself…
crabtraprgb250.jpgAfter opening its doors in February 1975, The Crab Trap has remained a favorite Island tradition for more than 30 years. This famous Island landmark is still owned and operated by the original family. The Crab Trap offers a very nautical, casual and rustic atmosphere. It is known for its tables with “the hole” in the middle used for discarding your fresh oyster shells and shrimp tails. Diners continue to return time after time for our delicious and generous portions of fresh seafood served fried, blackened, broiled or grilled.

What Others Are Saying About The Crab Trap

  • No frills dining, generally good food in a dive-like atmosphere. Crowded and popular, you can expect to pay a lot for this beach restaurant ($20 per person at least). The shrimp were excellent, crab cakes good but not exceptional, fish a little dry. A good choice, but pricey, as you might expect for the location. L. Masque
  • Slightly over priced but good. Keith Twitchel
  • A great seafood dive!! Harley

What Others Are Saying About Express Cafe and Bakery

  • Ranked #11 out of 379 restaurants in Savannah by Trip Advisor.
  • Went to the Express Cafe & Bakery for a quick lunch. Was crowded but we were waited on quickly. We did have to wait for a while to get our meals but it was worth it. The sandwiches were great. The bread and veggies were fresh. Free refills on soda and coffee. laldesigner, Chicago, in Trip Advisor 8/09
  • We had lunch here during our visit to Savannah, and the deli sandwiches were average, but plentiful. I had the cup of sweet potato soup — very thick and not really hot, but tasty. My husband had the fruit cup — again, average. The real star here, though, is the bread pudding. That’s probably the reason I’m giving it four stars! This is truly excellent and enough to share — warmed with whipped cream is the way to go. Kathryn H., Fairfax, Virginia, in yelp! 8/09
