ts-fishing.jpgBack in 1946 on Miller’s Pond surrounded by Cypress trees and oaks covered with Spanish moss, Harry G. Fulcher and Ostelle F. Fulcher originated this restaurant at McBean, Georgia. “T” is Harry’s family nickname and it was he, possessing a unique combination of love for people and of fishing, who created an outstanding seafood restaurant. “T” and Ostelle’s devotion to this idea established a substantial following and in 1952 they built T’s Seafood Restaurant at its present location. Garrett Fulcher, son of “T” and Ostelle, is proud to carry on the family tradition of over 55 years and welcome you to an evening of good eating and Southern hospitality.

  • Since 1952, T’s has been at the top of the list for fresh and expertly prepared seafood. The salad bar at lunch is fabulous as well. Stuffed crab, shrimp fried light and golden, and French fries and catfish (a T’s staple). There is fried chicken for landlubbers and, oh, the hushpuppies are so big and tasty you may want to make a meal of those. On 10Best 1/2009.
  • We have been going to T’s for years because of the great food. They have the best hush puppies in town and the seafood and salad bar are to die for. If you want good seafood go to T’s. CB on InsiderPages 1/2009.
  • This has been one of my favorite seafood restaurants for years. They have the best hushpuppies in the world. The catfish and the shrimp can’t be beat. Bob on Yahoo! 8/2007.

  • These guys know how to do it. Seafood is fresher than anywhere. I will definitely be back and it was well worth the drive from Augusta. Austin on MerchantCircle 8/2009
  • I do recommend that you patronize this restaurant. Come with a loose fitting pair of pants, get the seafood buffet, and order some fried gator as an appetizer. Get yourself a bowl of the soup and try both kinds of hushpuppies. Jimmy S on Yelp! 6/2009.
  • The glass enclosed porch of the restaurant hangs over the Ogeechee River with huge moss covered cypress and oaks providing shade and atmosphere. Occasionally will see a lazy alligator floating by, fish jumping… The weekend seafood buffets are the best around. They also yearly have an oyster-roast/pig picking’ for customer appreciation with prepaid tickets being less than 10 dollars per person. When in this region, this is a must try restaurant.” Tiffany on MyTravelGuide 5/2006.

Villa Europa Restaurant

What Villa Europa Says About  Itself
villaeuropargb353.jpgAnneliese and Patricia, owners, have been serving Augusta since 1974, with quality food at reasonable prices. Anneliese carries on traditional recipes learned in her mother’s German kitchen. Her daughter Patricia guides a well-trained staff, which includes many German natives. Their highlight of the year is their showpiece of Bavarian traditions with the annual “Oktoberfest.” Villa Europa continually strives to reevaluate their food, service, and atmosphere concepts and puts them in tune with modern trends, without compromising Gemuetlichkeit. We are proud to be able to call our hard working staff and loyal customers friends — they are the formula for our success.

What Others Are Saying About Villa Europa

  • The decor is a bit eclectic. It looks like many of the remodels aren’t in sync with the entire theme. Great German potato salad and cucumber salad. Cordon Bleu was a little tough but good. Schnitzel was very good. I would go back if passing through again. Mike M in Urban Spoon 7/09
  • Not sure where a couple of the folks who wrote a review have been eating in Germany. Depending on what part of Germany you are from, Villa Europa is as authentic German as my lederhosen. Anneliese has been cooking her whole life and unless you’re eating in her kitchen at home it doesn’t get much better. A contributor to Yahoo Local! 7/08
  • I’d suggest ordering the onion or potato-soup as an appetizer … not only are they both excellent  soups; it’ll occupy most of your wait-time for your entree. Mike R in Boo Rah, 12/07

Augusta’s Sconyers

What Sconyers Says About Itself…
sconyersaugustargb500.jpgIn Augusta, Sconyers is the place for real, old fashioned, oak and hickory, pit-cooked BAR-B-QUE. When your taste buds yearn for the honest taste of old- fashioned bar-b-que, Sconyers has to be your choice. Succulent, tender ribs; lean mouth watering tenderloin and flavorful hash … all cooked to perfection from a secret family recipe. Beautiful surroundings, friendly atmosphere and courteous staff.

Barbecue is a Southern tradition. At Sconyers we’ve tried to continue to enrich that tradition by serving only the finest bar-b-que cooked by a recipe handed down through generations of my family. Join in the tradition with us by having bar-b-que at its best at Sconyers. You’ll always be welcome.

What Others Are Saying About Sconyers

  • Disappointed at this old favorite. Seems to be living off its past reputation. Opened limited days and has lost it’s appeal! GMG in Urban Spoon 2/28/09
  • You have to try this place at least once. One of a kind. Southern hospitality at it’s finest. A contributor to Trip Advisor, 2/09
  • The best bbq in Augusta, and the stuff of legends. Just walk in and see all the pictures from days gone by of Sconyer’s bbq & past Presidents. The bbq is always consistently amazing. My favorite thing is splitting the Plantation Platter with someone so I can have a little bit of everything: chicken, pulled pork, ribs, hash, rice. The hash is my favorite thing there, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere is great too: gravel parking lot, pond with catfish (have great memories feeding the catfish as a kid here), farm tools & paraphenalia on the walls, Southern hospitality from all the servers. Oh and sweet, sweet, sweet tea. This place is also great for groups, lots of room. And if you want take out, they have a drive thru. Just beware - they’re only open Thurs, Fri and Sat last I checked. So you only have 3 days to satisfy any bbq cravings! Corrie N, Atlanta, in Yelp! 9/08

Augusta’s Broad Street Market

What Augusta’s Broad Street Market Is Saying About Itself…
Broad Street Market visually combines the unexpected with the modern, awash in diningout3.jpgsoft light and tempered ambient sounds. Whatever the occasion, we allow for the perfect ambience where eager diners can enjoy an evening of exquisite food, a fine bottle of wine and great company as the night reforms to a suitable atmoshere. At Broad Street Market you can enjoy dining the way it is supposed to be - as an experience. Dress code: chic to upscale casual.

What Others Are Saying About Broad Street Market

  • This place is really trying hard. The service and interior are nice enough, but the food is nothing special. The portions are REALLY REALLY small and do not merit the high prices. I have been to the kind of restaurant they are trying to emulate (expensive, big plate with tiny portion of divine food) but those only work because the food is way beyond what you normally get. At this place, the quality of the food just isn’t there to match the price level. Stacy, from Augusta, in Dining Guide
  • I think this restaurant embodies everything that Augusta can be. It is swanky & modern fine dining without being intimidating. While I only tried some appetizers (shrimp tempura & empanadas), they were all delicious and I can’t wait to go back for a full meal. I was also impressed with their wine selections and I immensely enjoyed The Jazz Collective, who was playing that night. Corrie N. From Atlanta in Yelp.
  • WOW!!! The BEST restaurant in Augusta, period. As newcomers to Augusta, we have dined at all of the top places in town and Broad Street stands head and shoulders above the rest. The food, service and ambiance, in one word - stunning, great architecture, great service, superb. James and Lucy in Yahoo

Augusta’s Calvert’s

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

craigcalvert177.jpgAfter being in operation for over 30 years, Calvert’s has long since become an Augusta tradition with elegant atmosphere, delicious food and gracious southern hospitality. (Thumbnail photo: owner and chef Craig Calvert).

This intimate restaurant serves a menu with a European flair and offers selections such as filet mignon, fresh seafood, veal and chicken Cordon Brie. Service is impeccable and reservations are recommended.

What People Are Saying
Here’s an excerpt from a review of Calvert’s by Mary Deriso and Christine Hurley Deriso:

  • We can rave about its unerring consistency, its attentive service, its panache with sauces and seasonings and its incredible desserts, but perhaps the overriding message to those who haven’t found out for themselves is that Calvert’s offers one of Augusta’s most soothing, relaxing dining experiences. Calvert’s, in Surrey Center, features soft lighting; curvy, overstuffed booths; handsomely framed mirrors; and twinkling white lights on ficus plants. The ambiance is elegant but not stuffy, classy yet friendly. Servers circulate in crisp white shirts and black trousers. First class all the way. Read more of the Deriso’s review.

Open Monday through Saturday for dinner only. Closed Sundays.
