Founded in 1955 by the Presbyterian Church, the Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center offers a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, trail riding, rafting, climbing, and archery. Fifteen miles from Abiquiu, New Mexico, this retreat sits on a sprawling 21,000 acres of land, with the nearby Chama River weaving its way through canyons. From April to October, the center provides oar-powered rafting opportunities over an 8 mile stretch of this river. Guests are given the option of lodging overnight in private rooms.
