Paddle past Wapahani Indian mounds in Indiana’s Mounds State Park

Canoe, kayak, or tube down the White River, which was known by the Miami tribe as Wapahani, or “white sands”. Canoe Country offers canoe and kayak trips ranging from 2 to 10 miles. Some of these trips take paddlers through Mounds State Park, where one can see ancient mounds dating back over 2,000 years. All tours are self-guided. There are also tubing trips that start upriver and end in Daleville. The canoeing season runs from April through October.
