From the tiny town of Clarkdale on the outskirts of Sedona, Arizona, the Verde Canyon Railroad brings guests aboard its fully restored vintage train for a tour of the Red Rock Canyons. Cars are climate-controlled and broken into coach, caboose and first-class sections. Snack bars, champagne service and large-picture windows round out the experience. As the train moves through the canyons it also offers bald eagle sightings and a variety of other wildlife viewing opportunities, with more than 900 native species occupying the protected park space on either side of the route.
