About Dan Langford
Dan Langford’s fascination with the nuances of Southern speech and expression stems from a lifetime exposure to and awareness of many variations of it. He believes that English spoken with a Southern accent is a lilting, beautiful thing. He also believes that Southerners have more colorful ways of expressing things than anyone else anywhere. This blog is dedicated to the end that Southern speech and expression might be preserved and continued for generations to come.
Langford’s Southern roots reach back Colonial Virginia, circa 1643; and he is the seventh successive generation of his family continuously to have occupied the same farm in Brooks, Georgia. He lives there today with his wife and two sons.
